BOTOX® Cosmetic and other injectable products offer unsurpassed safety and convenience in cosmetic skin care. A variety of products are available to treat wrinkles, fine lines, scarring, and other facial imperfections with a simple series of injections, allowing patients to avoid costly and invasive cosmetic surgery.
BOTOX® Cosmetic is quick and convenient and produces outstanding results for patients who are dissatisfied with wrinkles, fine lines, frown lines, and other symptoms of aging. A simple course of injections lasting about 15 minutes is enough to smooth away these imperfections for months at a time. The entire office visit takes no more than an hour, making BOTOX® Cosmetic treatment easy to fit into a busy schedule.
BOTOX® Cosmetic immobilizes and relaxes the muscles in the face that cause wrinkles and frown lines. The injections take effect gradually over the weeks after treatment, producing a natural transition to a more youthful appearance that usually lasts about four months. Side effects are very rare, though it is normal for patients to experience some minor redness the day after surgery. There is essentially no recovery period, and our patients from Stockton, Modesto, and elsewhere who receive BOTOX® injections are free to return to all normal daily activities as soon as treatment is complete.
Restylane® is an injectable dermal filler, meaning it is used to physically fill in wrinkles and augment the lips. The active ingredient in Restylane® is hyaluronic acid. This substance is naturally present in the human body, so the possibility of allergic reaction to Restylane® is remote. This ingredient helps Restylane® act in two ways. First, Restylane® fills in wrinkles, lines, and scars to produce an immediately smoother complexion. Then, as the hyaluronic acid in Restylane® is absorbed, it moisturizes the skin and provides remarkable benefits that last up to six months.
JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel is another hyaluronic acid filler. Recently approved by the FDA, it is used to smooth and plump the skin of the face and also to augment the lips. JUVÉDERM™ Injectable Gel is more concentrated than many other hyaluronic acid fillers and its molecules are heavily interlinked – a combination that results in even longer-lasting benefits (usually six months or more). As with other injectables, it is normal for patients to experience some mild redness and swelling immediately after treatment, but these symptoms quickly fade to reveal skin that is soft, smooth, pliant, and radiant.

Unwanted body hair can be extremely inconvenient. Waxing, shaving, and other temporary solutions can be hard on delicate skin, but laser hair removal is a gentle, effective, and permanent way to reduce or eliminate unwanted hair from almost any area of the body. Laser hair removal is popular among both male and female patients.
A laser hair removal treatment session involves applying precisely tuned laser energy to the hair follicles. The laser energy is absorbed by the hair, effectively disabling the hair follicle while leaving the surrounding skin undamaged. This treatment is most effective on darker, coarser hair and lighter skin, though a variety of lasers exist to treat different kinds of hair and skin.
Most patients require a series of four to six laser hair removal treatments in order to achieve lasting results. It is normal to experience minor swelling and redness after treatment, which typically fades within about 24 hours.
Laser tattoo removal is the most effective way to remove an unwanted tattoo without leaving unsightly scarring behind. Applying high-energy laser light to the tattooed skin causes the ink molecules in the tattoo to break up and gradually be absorbed by the skin. Laser tattoo removal causes only slight discomfort, which can be easily resolved with a local anesthetic.
It is normal for patients to experience minor redness, tenderness, and swelling after a laser tattoo removal treatment session, but these side effects almost always fade within a few days. Depending on the patient and the tattoo, multiple treatment sessions may be required. Tattoo color is the most important factor: Typically, darker tattoos are the easiest to remove. Other factors that can influence the procedure include the age of the tattoo, the size of the tattoo, and the type of ink used. Most patients need between six and twelve tattoo removal sessions to completely eliminate an unwanted tattoo.
The IPL® Photofacial™ system uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to rejuvenate the skin safely and effectively without relying on chemicals. By treating the skin with a series of high-energy light pulses, it is possible to diminish the effects of skin conditions such as rosacea, acne, and hyperpigmentation and produce a more radiant complexion. These light pulses penetrate deep into the inner layers of the skin, constricting blood vessels and collagen fibers inside the skin to stimulate a noticeable tightening and rejuvenating effect. The Photofacial™ treatment process takes only 30 minutes, and minor side effects such as redness and mild swelling disappear quickly, leaving the face looking healthy and luminous.
In microdermabrasion, the skin is treated with a spray of crystals that gently removes dry, damaged skin cells to reveal the healthier layers of new skin beneath. Microdermabrasion can help diminish wrinkles, lines, and scarring without need for chemicals of any kind. Each treatment takes about 30 minutes, leaving patients with only minor redness that fades quickly. Many patients choose to combine microdermabrasion, which treats the outermost layers of the skin, with IPL® Photofacial™, which treats the innermost layers. This combination is a safe way to rejuvenate the skin inside and out, giving it an amazing, healthy glow.
