KENNETH MISELIS, MD: Our practice is designed to make the patient comfortable when they come here. So everything we do in the time that the patient is with us is to make them feel more at ease, less uncomfortable.
Medicine is a scary thing, and for people that have problems with their eyesight, having eye problems is a particularly scary experience for most patients. So what we’re trying to do here in this practice is to make them feel as comfortable as we can as immediately. So we have furnishings that try and make it look less medical, more like their living room or a home. So they’re coming to a homey environment that puts them at ease in that respect.
FEMALE VOICE: I think when they walk in the door, they see that it’s a very open environment. There’s no closed--no windows that we’re hiding behind.
BRETT: I mean, from the minute I came in here, the staff was friendly, you know, willing to answer any questions I had.
MALE VOICE: Even during all the checks, they explained what they were doing, what they were looking for. When they’re mapping the eye out and went over all the information even afterwards. Okay. This is where you’re at, this is, you know, I mean, everything was spelled out for me.
