KENNETH MISELIS, MD: Insurance coverage for vision care services is confusing. And one of the nice things about our office is we’re very aware of that and understand how insurance can be intimidating and confusing for everybody. We’re happy to answer questions about that on the phone. We’re very familiar with all the nuances of Medicare, MediCal, and some of the vision care plans.

One of the interesting things about eye care is that it kind of crosses between medicine and coverage for glasses or vision services. Some insurances cover vision services, but not medical care. Some insurances cover medical care, but not vision services. And we understand that and it’s always reassuring to know that we have the staff here to answer your questions regarding that because it can be very, very confusing, and it’s important to understand what you’re entitled to so to maximize what your insurances can do for you.
