MALE VOICE: Dr. Miselis is a down-to-earth kind of a guy, and treats his patient really well, along with the staff members. They--my wife came in with me on every appointment and they treat us excellent and took care of us real well.

REJENA: Dr. Miselis took a lot of time with me and he was very patient. In fact, I think I was more eager to have Lasik than he was ready to give it to me. He wanted to be sure that I was very well prepared.

LANNA: Dr. Miselis is a perfectionist, and he is on the mark with pretty much everything he does, and expects us to be on the mark with everything that we do.

KENNETH MISELIS, MD: In medical school, you’re exposed to all kinds of different specialties or even non-specialized, kind of general practice things. Ophthalmology had a particular interest to me because many of the things that are current in ophthalmology actually were pretty neat because they made things better for people, and it was nice to do that. You know, even a simple thing of prescribing glasses makes that person’s life better. It was kind of a gratifying experience to have those, you know, gee-whiz moments where the patients, you know, were really ecstatic about the results, even for something simple.

And ophthalmology is--I’ve gotten more involved in it and find that there’s many things that we can actually fix. We can correct refractive errors; we can remove cataracts; we can treat glaucoma; we can preserve people’s vision, which is a major benefit for that particular person’s life and lifestyle, and that’s nice.
